ألا يحق لأي طفل، إن كان يملك جنسية أم لا، وإن كان يملك إقامة شرعية أم لا، أو مهما كانت أوضاعه «القانونية»، أن يحظى بفرصة للتعلم؟ بالتأكيد، هذا حق بديهي. لكن، ليس عند القوات اللبنانية.
هكذا، خلال الأسبوع الماضي، طرح نائبان من القوات اللبنانية مسألة منع تلاميذ سوريين/ات من تلقي التعليم في المدارس الرسمية.
الأول: زياد حواط
اجتمع حواط، في 30 نيسان 2024، بمدراء المدارس الرسمية التي تستقبل تلامذة سوريين/ات في قضاء جبيل، وأكد «متابعته هذا الموضوع مع وزارة التربية وضرورة عدم تسجيل أي طالب سوري لا يملك أوراقاً ثبوتية (إقامة)».
الثاني: رازي الحاج
خلال مقابلة مع MTV، في 1 أيار 2024، قال الحاج: «على سبيل المثال، بفتحلك ملف التعليم. اليوم على الحكومة تقول أنا ما بقى بقبل بتعليم السوريين بالمنهج اللبناني بالمدارس الرسمية بعد الضهر. هيدا نوع من أنواع الدمج. وهيدي خلص نحن بلغنا رئيس الحكومة موقف واضح منها».
الحال أن ابتزاز السوريين/ات في لبنان بتعليم أطفالهم/ن ليس جديداً. فمع كل عام دراسي جديد يطرح هذا الملف كمشكلة. تطرح أرقام «مخيفة» عن أعداد التلاميذ السوريين/ات، ويُحذر من خطر وجود لبنانيين/ات وسوريين/ات في صفوف تعليمية مشتركة. عدا عن اتهامات عشوائية بجلب الأمراض والعنف إلى المدارس والتسبب بتدني المستوى التعليمي وإلى آخره.
وفي 16 نيسان الماضي، نفذ التيار الوطني الحر وقفة احتجاجية أمام مدرستين، في جبيل، تعلمان السوريين/ات في دوام بعد الظهر، فيما كان شبيحة جنود الرب يعتدون على تلاميذ في سد البوشرية.
We Will Deprive Your Children of Education
Isn’t it basic human rights for every child, irrespective of their nationality, legal status, or background, to have access to education? Absolutely, but unfortunately, the Lebanese Forces don’t seem to acknowledge this.
So, over the past week, two deputies from the Lebanese Forces raised the issue of banning Syrian students from receiving education in public schools.
The First: Ziad Hawat
On April 30, 2024, Hawat met with the directors of public schools that admit Syrian students in the Jbeil district, reaffirming his “commitment to this issue with the Ministry of Education and stressing the necessity of not enrolling any Syrian student who does not possess valid documentation (residency).”
The Second: Razi Al-Haj
During an interview with MTV on May 1, 2024, Al-Hajj stated: “For example, I’ll discuss with you the education file. Today, the government declares there will be no education of Syrians in the Lebanese curriculum in public schools in the afternoon. This is a form of integration. And this is it, we have reached the Prime Minister with a clear stance on it.”
The extortion of Syrians in Lebanon regarding their children’s education is not new. With every new academic year, this issue arises as a problem. “Alarming” figures about the number of Syrian students are presented, and warnings are issued about the danger of having Lebanese and Syrian students in common classrooms. In addition, there are random accusations of bringing diseases and violence to schools and causing a decline in educational standards, and so on.
On April 16th, the Free Patriotic Movement staged a protest in front of two schools in Jbeil that educate Syrians in the afternoon shift, while ‘Soldiers of God’ militia attacked students at Sad El-Bouchrieh area.
