فيما كان شبيحة «جنود الرب» يعتدون على تلاميذ سوريين/ات في البوشرية، الثلاثاء في 16 نيسان 2024، كانت هيئة قضاء جبيل في التيار الوطني الحر تنظم وقفة احتجاجية أمام مدرستي عمشيت المختلطة المتوسطة الرسمية وجبيل الرسمية الثانية، اللتين تدرسان سوريين/ات في دوام بعد الظهر، «ما دفع بإدارة المدرستين إلى وقف التدريس وإعادة الطلاب السوريين إلى ذويهم»، وفق الوكالة الوطنية للإعلام.

وسببُ الاحتجاج هو تطبيق التجريم والعقاب الجماعيين على السوريين/ات. ذلك أن «الجرائم التي يرتكبها السوريون تزداد يوماً بعد آخر»، كما قال منسق قضاء جبيل سبع حبيب. وأضاف: «تاريخنا وبلدنا وحياتنا ومستقبل أولادنا على المحك. (…) لن نسمح بانتزاع وطننا منا، لن ندعهم يرتاحون».

وحبيب وقح إلى درجة أنه اعتبر هذه الوقفة الاحتجاجية، الموجهة ضد أطفال، «ليست ضد حقوق الإنسان»، وإن كان يطالب بـ«اتخاذ قرار بإقفال المدارس التي تدرس السوريين».

The Free Patriotic Movement protests against Syrian students in Jbeil

While the “Lord Soldiers” thugs were assaulting Syrian students in Bouchrieh on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the District Council in Jbeil, affiliated with the Free Patriotic Movement, organized a protest in front of the Amchit Mixed Intermediate Official School and Jbeil Official Second School. Both schools teach Syrian students in the afternoon shift, “prompting the school administrations to suspend classes and send the Syrian students back to their families”, according to the National News Agency.

The reason for the protest is the implementation of collective punishment and criminalization against Syrians. This is because “the crimes committed by Syrians are increasing day by day,” as stated by the coordinator of the Jbeil district Sabaa Habib. He added, “Our history, our country, our lives, and the future of our children are at stake… We will not allow our homeland to be taken from us; we will not let them rest.”

Habib was audacious to the extent that he considered this protest, targeting children, “not against human rights,” even though he demanded “a decision to close schools that teach Syrians.”
