لم يتحمل منظمو/ات Lebanese Independent FilmFest انتقاداً بشأن سوء التنظيم خلال عرض الأفلام، في ستايشن بيروت (جسر الواطي)، نشرته إحدى الحاضرات (فرح درويش) على انستغرام، في 23 أيلول 2023. مثل أعمال العصابات، أستدرجت درويش بعيداً عن أصدقائها، وطُلب منها مغادرة المكان بأسلوب مهين وعدواني، قبل أن يُسلب منها هاتفها وتُضرب.
قالت درويش، في فيديو نشرته على حسابها في انستغرام، «كنت عم طلع تلفوني من جيبتي، فالشاب يلي معها بيجي بيضربني وبقشطني تلفوني وبفل فيه، وأنا بصير أركض وراه لبرا لأخد منو تلفوني وبصيروا يضربوني هو وياها وبنت تالتة وبصير كل العالم عم تتفرج عليّ عم انضرب جوا وبرا (…)، وبعدين بيجوا كل الباقيين بصيروا يعيطوا عليّ وانو الحق عليّ، وانو ليش هيك عم بعمل، وهني يلي عم يضربوني ويخبطوني».
يذكر أن المستدرجة كانت ساندي ركا (Sandy Rakka)، وهي مسؤولة الإعلام في المهرجان. والمعتدي الرئيسي، بعد ذلك، كان غوثير رعد (Gauthier Raad)، مدير المهرجان.
Thuggery or Cinema?
The organizers of the Lebanese Independent FilmFest could not withstand criticism regarding their poor organization during a film screening at Beirut Station (Jesr al-Wati). One of the attendees (Farah Darwish), shared her experience on instagram, on September 23, 2023. Similar to thuggish behavior, Darwish was lured away from her friends and forced to leave the premises in a humiliating and aggressive manner before her phone was confiscated and she was physically assaulted.
Darwish stated via a video posted on her instagram account: “I was trying to get my phone out of my pocket, and the guy with her came over, hit me, took my phone and went off, so i chased him outside to recover my phone. They started hitting me along with a third girl. Everyone was watching me getting beaten up inside and outside… Then everyone else came and started yelling at me, blaming me for what was happening, even though they were the ones hitting and attacking”.
It is worth mentioning that the instigator was Sandy Rakka, the festival’s media coordinator and the primary assailant afterward, was Gauthier Raad, the festival director.
