يوم الثلاثاء، في 18 تموز 2023، كان مخصصاً لدى التيار الوطني الحر للتحريض على اللاجئين/ات السوريين/ات، والتعبير عن مواقف عنصرية، بذريعة الاعتراض على توصيات البرلمان الأوروبي. نوابه عقدوا مؤتمراً صحافياً في مجلس النواب، بالإضافة إلى تصريحات متفرقة. جمهوره نفذ اعتصاماً أمام مقر الاتحاد الأوروبي في بيروت. شبابه وزعوا منشورات في المتن. وإعلامه ذكر بمرحلة الوصاية السورية، مع حملات على السوشيال ميديا.
ما يلي عرض لبعض هذه المواقف.

The Free Patriotic Movement on the day of racism and incitement
The Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) dedicated Tuesday, July 18, 2023 to incite against Syrian refugees and express racist positions under the pretext of protesting the statements made by the European Parliament. Along with making individual statements, the deputies affiliated with the FPM held a press conference at the Lebanese Parliament while the supporters organized a sit-in in front of the European Union’s Beirut headquarters. In al-Matn, the youth handed out flyers, and the media had to talk about the stage of Syrian tutelage. There were also several social media campaigns.
The situations listed below illustrate a few of these positions.

Syrian refugees who have fled to Lebanon profit from their presence here by speculating on the Lebanese labor force or by establishing new social customs that are distinct from Lebanese ones. They now reserve spaces for themselves in narrow areas of Lebanon which causes an exorbitant cost of living for the Lebanese, they consume water, use materials that are subsidized for the Lebanese and benefit from them illegally. They engage in illegal trade, and their social norms and traditions diverge from those of the Lebanese people. As a result, all this will cause issues in Lebanese society, and these issues may even give rise to terrorist situations.
