سلاحا العنصري أسعد درغام

النائب أسعد درغام، عضو في التيار الوطني الحر. في هذا الفيديو، يلتزم واحداً من أهم مبادئ تياره: التخويف من الآخر (الغريب). 

وفي سبيل ذلك، يستعمل سلاحين. 

الأول: السلاح، بمعناه الحرفي. إذ يزعم أن اللاجئين/ات السوريين/ات يملكونه بكثرة.

الثاني: الديمغرافيا، وهو سلاح غير مادي، يتميز بسهولة استخدامه وفعاليته. وكان قد طورته، أقله في سياقاتنا المحلية، جماعات عنصرية وطائفية طوال عقود ماضية.

MP Asaad Dergham, a member of the Free Patriotic Movement, adheres in this video to one of his party’s most fundamental beliefs: intimidation of the other (the foreigner).

He makes use of two weapons to accomplish this. 

The first is the literal definition of a weapon. He allegedly claims that Syrian refugees possess it in large quantities. 

Demography is a second intangible weapon, and is both simple to use and highly effective. Over the years, it was created by racist and sectarian groups, at least in our local contexts.
