بلغنا أن المتحرش المتسلسل جو قديح، وبكل وقاحة، رفع دعوى ضد عدد من الأشخاص الذين فضحوا/ن تحرشه المتكرر بالنساء والقاصرات (وقد كن طالباته). وبلغنا أيضاً أن «أخبار الساحة» هي أحد المدعى عليهم/ن. وأن مكتب مكافحة جرائم المعلوماتية يطلب من المستدعيين/ات توقيع تعهد (غير قانوني) بعدم تناول قديح وجرائمه مجدداً.

سننشر هنا التعهد الوحيد الذي نوافق على توقيعه، إن كان حيال جو قديح أو غيره من المتحرشين.

نحن في فريق «أخبار الساحة» نتعهد:

أننا لن نمل من ملاحقة المتحرشين وفضحهم، أيّاً كانوا وأينما كانوا.

وأننا نصدق الناجيات دائماً وأبداً، وسنعمل جاهدين على رفع أصواتهن وإعادة نشر شهاداتهن. ولن نرضخ لأي محاولة لترهيبنا وإسكاتنا، ولن نخاف لا من تهديدات ولا من دعاوى.

نفهم جيداً لماذا يتلطى المتحرشون أمثالك، يا جو، وراء دعاوى القدح والذم والتشهير. لكن ردنا بالمختصر على الدعوى المقدمة ضدنا هو بلّها وشراب ميتها.

The Serial harasser Joe Kodeih is suing those who exposed him

We were informed that the serial harasser Joe Kodeih brazenly filed a lawsuit against a number of people who exposed his repeated harassment of women and minors (who were his students). We were also informed that “Akhbar Al-Saha” is one of the defendants, and that the Cybercrime Office requires the summoned to sign an (illegal) pledge not to deal with Kodeih and his crimes again.

We will publish here the only pledge that we agree to sign, whether it is against Joe Kodeih or any other harassers.

We, the team of “Akhbar Al-Saha” pledge that:

We will never stop pursuing and exposing harassers, whoever they are and wherever they are.

We believe the survivors, always and forever, and we will work hard to raise their voices and re-publish their testimonies.  

We will not acquiesce in any attempt to intimidate or silence us, nor will we be afraid of threats or lawsuits.

We understand very well why harassers like you, Joe, hide behind lawsuits of defamation and slander.  

But our response, in short, to the case against us is: Do your worst, we don’t care.
