«روح اتطلع بالمراية بتعرف ليه»، هذا ما قاله موظف في مركز Omt فرع ساسين في الأشرفية لشاب يحمل الجنسية السودانية، أراد أن يصرّف من الدولار إلى الليرة اللبنانية.
يروي الشاب لـ«أخبار الساحة» أنه ذهب إلى الفرع في 13 آذار الحالي، عندما كان سعر صرف الدولار 97000 ليرة، إلا أن الموظف أراد أن يعطيه 80 ألفاً للدولار الواحد. وحين سأله عن السبب أجابه «اللي متلك ما بيستاهل يحمل دولار أصلاً».
«أشعر دائماً أنه غير مرحب بي في هذا البلد»، يقول الشاب، ثم يروي حادثة أخرى حصلت معه في حرش بيروت قبل يوم من حادثة الـOMT. «كنت وحدي أعزف على الغيتار، وإذ بشخص من الموجودين هناك يقترب ليطلب مني الرحيل، بحجة أنه لا يريد وسخاً في المكان الذي يجلس فيه».
يسأل الشاب «بأي قرن عايشين؟». ويكمل أن هذه الحوادث تزعجه لكنه يشارك هذه المواقف كنوع من المقاومة.
OMT: Someone like you doesn’t deserve to carry a dollar in the first place
“Go look in the mirror and you’ll figure out why.” This is what an employee at OMT, Sassine branch in Ashrafieh, told a young man of Sudanese nationality, who wanted to exchange dollars into Lebanese pounds.
The young man recounted to Akhbar al-Saha that he went to the branch on the 13th of March, when the exchange rate for the dollar was 97,000 LBP. The employee wanted to give him 80,000 per dollar, so when he asked him about the reason, he replied, “Someone like you doesn’t deserve to carry a dollar in the first place”.
“I always feel not welcomed in this country,” says the young man, then narrates another incident that happened to him in Horsh Beirut, one day prior to the OMT incident. “I was alone playing my guitar when someone approached me and demanded that I leave, under the pretext that he did not want dirt in the place where he was sitting.”
“What century do we live in?” He asks, and proceeds to say that such incidents are disturb him, but him sharing them is a form of resistance.
