في 14 كانون الأول 2022، انتشر فيديو لطفل سوريّ تعرّض للضرب من قبل صاحب مزرعة كان يعمل فيها كراعٍ.
ولد هذا الطفل في لبنان. يعيش مع أمه وأربع أخوات أما أباه فهو مفقود في سوريا.
تعيش عائلته في قرية صغار- قضاء البترون، في منزل مؤلف من غرفة واحدة في قرية صغار.
وجد الطفل عملاً، كراع للغنم، في إحدى المزارع في عمشيت مقابل مليوني ليرة أي ما يعادل الـ50 دولاراً شهرياً مع تأمين منامته وطعامه.
لكن العمل لم يكن حسب الاتفاق، وفق ما يروي الطفل لـ«أخبار الساحة».
كان الطعام قليلاً، والغرفة التي ينام فيها غير صالحة للسكن وباردة جداً.
«في صباح اليوم الأول، تناولت فطوري المكوّن من الخبز واللّبن الرّائب، ثم خرجت مع الغنم، عدت مساءً وأنا في غاية التعب.
في اليوم الثاني، لم يقدّم لي الفطور. وهكذا صرت أحصل على وجبة واحدة مكونة من خبز ولبن كل يومين أو ثلاثة».
مرّ شهر، كان مرهقاً جداً للطفل ومن دون طعام كاف، في الأسبوع الثالث طلب من صاحب العمل السماح له للذهاب لزيارة عائلته وإعطائه جزءاً من راتبه لكي يعطيها لعائلته. إلا أن صاحب المزرعة رفض ذلك بحجة أنه لا يسمح له بالزيارات خلال الشهر الأول من عمله وأنه لا يملك المال المطلوب حالياً، ما يملكه هو «معزة» سيذبحها ويبيعها مع إتمام الشهر، وسيدفع الأجر من ثمنها.
في نهاية الشهر، عاود الطفل سؤاله عن المال، لكنّ صاحب العمل أجابه «مش رح ادفع لك هيدا الشهر، بس تشتغل عندي 3 شهور، بعطيك هنّي دفعة وحدة». اعترض الطفل، قائلاً له إن الاتفاق كان يتضمّن الدفع الشهري، وأن وضع أمه لا يسمح بالانتظار أكثر، فشتمه وشتم أم الطفل أمام شريكه وابنه، وطلب منه الانصراف.
يقول الطفل «شعرت بالغضب، رددت الشتيمة له، فانهالوا عليّ بالضرب، ثلاثتهم. وفي نحو الساعة الثانية بعد منتصف الليل، أخذني في سيارته خارج المزرعة، ورمى بي على جانب الطريق، قائلاً: ما تحلم تشوف منّي ليرة، طالما طوّلت لسانك هيك».
«كان الطريق مظلما ولم أستطع تحديد مكان وجودي، فأخذت أمشي بشكلٍ مستقيم حتى وصلت إلى مكان مأهول، عثر عليّ فيه رجل استضافني عنده حتى الصباح، ثم قدّم لي الطعام وأوصلني إلى جسر البترون، وعدت إلى أهلي».
من جهتها، تقول والدة الطفل «أخبروني أن الرجل صاحب مال، ويبحث عن شغيل. أجبرتني الحاجة على القبول بابتعاد ابني عنّي، ولم أكن أتوقّع أن يعود مضروباً، مهاناً، وبلا نقود».
A Syrian child is beaten in Amchit because he demanded his wage
On the 14th of December, 2022, a video circulated of a Syrian child being beaten by the owner of a farm where he was working as a shepherd.
This child was born in Lebanon. He lives with his mother and four sisters while his father has gone missing in Syria.
His family resides in the village of Sughar, in Batroun district, in a house conforming of a single room.
He found a job as a shepherd in a farm in Amchit for two million Lebanese pounds, which is equivalent to 50 dollars, per month, and was promised housing and food.
But things didn’t go in accord with the agreement, according to what the child told “Akhbar al-Saha.”
Food was little, and the room that he was granted was uninhabitable and extremely cold.
“On the morning of the first day, I ate my breakfast that consisted of bread and curd, then I went out with the sheep. I came back in the evening, exhausted.
On the second day, I was not served breakfast. This way, I started getting one meal per day, consisting of bread and milk every two or three days.
One month went by, the child was worn out, and with no sufficient food. In the third week he asked his employer to allow him to go visit his family and give him part of his salary to hand it to them. The farm owner refused, on the pretext that he does not allow visits during the first month of work, and that he does not have the requested amount of money. He said that what he owns is a “goat”, which he will slaughter and sell at the end of the month. Then he would be able to give him the salary.
At the end of the month, the child requested his money again, but the employer answered him, “I will not pay you this month, I will give you a lump sum when you finish 3 months of work here”. The child objected, telling him that the agreement included monthly payments, and that his mother’s condition did not allow him to wait any longer, so he insulted him and his mother in front of his partner and son, and asked him to leave.
The child says, “I was outraged, and I cursed him back, so they started beating me, all three of them. At about two am after midnight, he took me in his car outside the farm, and threw me on the side of the road, saying: “You will only see a dime from me in your dreams, thats for bring rude to me”
The road was dark and I could not locate my whereabouts, so I walked in a straight direction until I reached a populated place, where a man found me. He hosted me until the morning, gave me food and drove me to the Batroun Bridge, and I returned to my family.”
For her part, the child’s mother says, “They told me that the man is rich and is looking for a worker. The need forced me to accept the fact that my son might be away from me, and I did not expect that he would return beaten, humiliated, and with no money.”
