في 26 تشرين الثاني الماضي، أجبر سكان من عقتنيت، في قضاء صيدا، اللاجئين السوريين المقيمين في البلدة على المغادرة، بعد توقيف الجيش سوريين اثنين للاشتباه في قتلهما شاباً يبلغ 17 عاماً، في 24 من الشهر نفسه.
لكن الانذار الذي وجهه السكان، ونقلته وسائل إعلام صباح السبت، ترافق مع تهديدات مباشرة واعتداءات بحق اللاجئين، شملت تكسير زجاج سيارات ودراجات نارية، والطرق بعنف على أبواب بيوت السوريين، وفق ما قال لاجئ (30 عاماً) يعيش منذ ست سنوات في البلدة لـ«أخبار الساحة».
وهو يقيم، الآن، في منزل قريب له، في إحدى القرى المجاورة، بعدما اضطر وعائلته إلى مغادرة منزله منتصف ليل السبت – الأحد، أي مع نهاية المهلة التي حددها سكان عقتنيت للاجئين لإخلاء بيوتهم. «بالطبع، لم نستطع أخذ كامل أمتعتنا، ولسنا الحالة الوحيدة. كانت المهلة قصيرة، ولم يستطع أغلب المطرودين نقل جميع أغراضهم».
ويضيف «لم يكن لدينا علم بما حدث بين المغدور وقاتله. أشيع في البلدة أن القتل كان بهدف السرقة، لكن لا أحد يعرف حقيقة الأمر، من السوريين على الأقل»، مشيراً إلى أن «أهالي البلدة هاجموا منازلنا. كنا جميعاً خائفين متوارين عن الأنظار».
ويقول «كنا مصدومين، لأنه لم يسبق أن حدث أي خلاف بيننا وبين أهالي عقتنيت، كانوا دائماً لطفاء معنا، وكنا نحترمهم».
Expulsion of the Syrian refugees from Aaqtanit by menace and sabotage
On November 26, residents of Aaqtanit, in the district of Saida, forced the Syrian refugees residing in the town to leave, after the army arrested two Syrians on suspicion of killing a 17-year-old boy, on the 24th of the same month.
But the notice that the residents sent, and that was reported by the media on Saturday morning, was accompanied with direct threats and attacks against the refugees, which, according to what a 30-year-old refugee, who has been living in the town for 6 years, told “Akhbar AlSaha”, included smashing the windows of the cars and the motorcycles, and knocking violently on the doors of the Syrians’ homes,
He is now residing in a relative’s house, in one of the neighbouring villages, after he was obliged to leave his house Saturday midnight, alongside his family, that is at the end of the time limit that was set by the residents of Aaqtanit for the refugees to vacate their homes. “Of course, we could not take all of our belongings, and we’re not the only case. The delay was short, and most of the expellees could not move all their belongings.
He adds “we had no apprehension of what had happened between the victim and his killer. It was allegedly rumoured in the town that the murder was for the purpose of theft, but noone knows the truth about the matter, at least from the Syrians”, noting that the “people of the town attacked our homes. We were all frightened, and out of sight.”
He says “we were shocked, because there was never any dispute between us and the people of Aaqtanit, they were always nice to us, and we respected them.”
